The Domkyrka i Västerås was built in the 12th century
It is probably most famous because Gustav Vasa's (the Swedish king that liberated Sweden from Denmark) oldest son, Eric XIV is buried in this church
Johannes Rudbeckius is also buried in here. he is the founder of the first high school in Sweden, which was in Västerås as well
The tower has 102,5 metres
It is one of the third churches in Sweden that received 3 stars from Guide Michelin
In the 19th century it was resturated in a Neogothic style
